The trailer for Dominion, the up-and-coming free expansion for Eve Online, is out!
There's tons of stuff in this expansion, but the trailer focuses on the improved warfare; the way you capture and defend a star system just got a lot more involved, so let the tactical maneuvering begin! Oh and if you don't care about all that --it's just a fucking awesome video.

Robert McNamara is dead... which is as good an occasion as any to plug the interview/documentary
The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara. They were going to film him for a few quotes as part of a larger documentary, but the guy turned out to be so interesting that they kept filming and eventually he got his own movie. Which is not surprising as he was the CEO of a very large company (Ford), was adviser to Kennedy during the Cuba missile crisis, and he was Secretary of Defense during the Vietnam war! Needless to say, this is must see stuff. With special thanks to Cinema Zed for playing this kind of crazy shit.

Palingbeek domain..

During World War II, Germany expected the Allied invasion somewhere around Calais, because that is the closest point between the UK and France. In preparation for that, they built fortifications along the entire coast, but with extra emphasis on that area. Between Cap-gris-nez and Cap-blanc-nez you can find Wissant, giving a rather discouraging welcome indeed when approached from the bad side.

Bayernwald is the name of yet another hill that seems too small to notice these days, but that for some reason or other was absolutely crucial to capture during WWI. After the Germans managed to grab it, they promptly renamed it to this "Bayernwald". As soon as the hill was under control, it was "fortified" in the usual way, that is to say, trenches were made that run right through it.
