Again, revisiting a location from last fall. Perhaps not as spectacular as Gullfoss, as there wasn't really time to descend down to the actual lake (cursed be thee, guided tours), but still not bad. And yeah, more sunsets!

Višey is a small island off the coast of Reykjavik; a five minute ferry trip and you're there. It still succeeds in getting you away from the "city", even though it's basically just a couple of smallish hills and vegetation made of dry sticks. It's a nice walk to follow the encircling trail, and enjoy the amazing view.

Right now I'm about 6 weeks behind on the blog --not too bad, it used to be four months-- but yesterday I was off on a walk and "discovered" that our local pond, Tjörnin, has frozen over. Probably for some time already. Mmyeah, I got sidetracked and never made it to wherever I was going. So I thought I'd jump the queue and show these asap, so at least you get an idea of what it looks like right here, right now. These pics were taken between 15:00 and 15:30...

When I came here to interview, CCP was kind enough to schedule an extra day where I could just go and check out the city and the country, so I could get an idea of the place. I immediately embarked on a classic tourist trip, of which Thingvellir national park is the first stop.
